It's a busy time of the year. I have been sick for about 4 weeks now, I still have the cough and headache. It definitely makes you realize what a blessing it is when you feel good. I went to Salt Lake City last weekend to see Mary for her Birthday. We went to See "The Forgotten Christmas Carols" it was great. Mary had gotten the tickets for my birthday and we had a fun time. Happy Birthday Mary and thanks for a really fun time. I was still a little under the weather and so on Sat. when we went shopping, I was kind of tired.
I just have to let Heavenly Father know how grateful I am for all of my children I love them so much and they are so good to me. Well I better get back to what I have to do, so this is a short note.

Gratitude
My two daughter have both inspired me to make a post. I too have much to be grateful for, especially my daughters Tara and Mary, I would be lost in this world if it were not for these too great woman. I love them more than they will ever know. They always inspired me to do what is right. I'm also grateful for my two sons Beau and Michael. They both keep me in stitches and are both great men. They would do anything that I might need and they do it with a smile.I love them more than they know. I'm also grateful for Kim, he is the love of my life, and always helps me when I need him, and has been a great husband and father to my children. I must have done something right in the pre-existence for having such a wonderful life.I'm grateful for the Savior Jesus Christ for he is my friend and always listens to me and is also always there for me. I'm grateful for Heavenly Father for all that he has given me. I'm grateful that the missionaries who found me 35 years ago and that they did not give up on me when I was not ready to be baptised when I was first asked. I'm grateful that I am an American and for all the blessing that come to me because I live in this free country. All of these things are mine because of Heavenly Father and his love for me..

3 Favorite People!
Here's some of the favorite people in my family. Kim and I were cleaning today and came across these cute pictures of Mary and Bompie, and Grandma. We also found some fingerprints and footprints that were made of Beau, Tara, and Michael from 1982. Tara and Beau's were fingerprints, and Michael's were footprints because he was only 1 month old at the time. I can't believe how fast time goes by in your life. It seems like yesterday when my children were small. I really enjoyed conference today, It was as if Heavenly Father was speaking directly to me through each speaker. It made my testimony even stronger to know that Heavenly Father truly does know and love me.

CATS
Saturday I went to see Cats with Marilyn Oscarson and her daughter Susan. We had a lot of fun, we really enjoyed the music and dance but we did not quite understand the story line, so I came home and looked it up on line. I learned a little more about it.

My Son
I received this today from my sister-in -law, it really touched me.
MY SON
This is great, take a moment to read it, will make your day! The ending will surprise you
Take my Son
A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.
When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.
About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.
He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art." The young man held out this package. "I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this."
The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. "Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift."
The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.
The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.
On the platform sat the painting of the son The auctioneer pounded his gavel. "We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?"
There was silence.
Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, "We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one."
But the auctioneer persisted. "Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?"
Another voice angrily. "We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandt's. Get on with the real bids!"
But still the auctioneer continued. "The son! The son! Who'll take the son?"
Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. "I'll give $10 for the painting." Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.
"We have $10, who will bid $20?"
"Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters."
"$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?"
The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.
They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.
The auctioneer pounded the gavel. "Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!"
A man sitting on the second row shouted, "Now let's get on with the collection!"
The auctioneer laid down his gavel. "I'm sorry, the auction is over."
"What about the paintings?"
"I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.
The man who took the son gets everything!"
God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: "The son, the son, who'll take the son?"
Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE
Please send this to ten people and back to the one who sent it to you.
Do whatever you like, but remember that maybe "one" of the people you might have taken the time to send this to, may be just the person who needs to hear this message. You have a choice to make."
God Bless.

1st Lesson
Today was my first Relief Society Lesson to teach. I guess it went well, I just finished a little early. I wasn't exactly sure how to judge the time, I'll do better next month. I learn so much more from teaching than just listening, I must have a doer brain. I definitely received a conformation that what I taught was true, and my testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith was strengthened. I know that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. I hope that someday I may get to visit the Sacred Grove.
